The Dining Room

This room is where the LeRays took most of their meals. Because the historic kitchen is located downstairs, this dining room was serviced by a dumbwaiter which was located in a closet just beyond the dining room. Today, this room serves much the same purpose, as well as hosting three displays from the Cultural Resources Department. One display hosts Therese's dishes. Therese, James LeRay's daughter, brought over 50 full place setting of fine china from their estate in France. Some of these dishes have survived until today, and we keep them on display in the dining room. The other two displays host rotating exhibits, so visit our digital exhibits page or drop in to see our current displays!
