Welcome to the library! Just as it is used today, this room functioned as a library and tutoring space during the time of the LeRays. Vincent's son (james's grandson), was tutored in this room, and his tutor lived here as well. The Library may also have been used as a general meeting room, for those occasions that were less formal or professional and the Brown Room was not needed. Today, the Library hosts a sample Victorian curio cabinet and our collection of research materials, which includes resources on military history, archaeological and anthropological studies, and the history of our neighboring Indian nations.
The Library Fireplace houses a cast iron stove that was purchased by the Payen family and was made in Troy, NY.
The Library bookcase holds our collection of reference materials.
